- We are from Des Moines, Iowa! I'm so glad we made the decision to visit Gatorland on our first trip to Florida. It was beyond awesome. I was only expecting a handful of gators and there were so many, so many different kinds and sizes. There's snakes, birds, 2 little bobcats, we saw some deer, turtles, lizards, fish, water buffalo, flamingos . It actually takes you back into an actual swamp which I thought was awesome! It was so much bigger than I expected. We spent 3 hours here walking around. I loved reading the signs that were posted everywhere, not only were they comical but informative. I loved the white gators and I enjoyed reading about all the different gators and crocs. I think it's really cool that instead of taking animals and putting them into a cage, they built an attraction around an actual swap so they are in their natural habitat. It's especially really cool for someone like me who has never been given the chance to see gators, let alone gators in their own habitat. We watched the gatorland show which I found the 2 guys hilarious and enjoyable to watch. They seemed to of enjoyed their jobs. Over all I would deff check this place out.
